Did you hear they banned kids from playing tag at a Colorado school?? They were talking about it on the radio this morning and apparently a lot of schools here have already banned it. Kids are getting soft (emotionally...and physically as well).
I just read about that this morning. Unbelievable! The principle says it causes too much conflict on the playground! We used to play tag with playground balls; never mind tagging the other kid - you threw a ball at him as hard as you could trying to hit him. The best shots were ones that hit the fleeing kid in the legs and tripped him, not only making him "it," but also laying him out on the ground in the process. Of course, that was New Jersey, and kids are just tougher there, I think...
We are living in an ever-increasing nanny-state that will only be content with a citizenry consisting of lifeless, compliant, tax-paying drones. It will be up to the next generation of parents to put the nanny in her proper place!
