this guy has some interesting things to say. You can clearly tell that he is a scientist and not a politician because of the attention to detail and facts. Refreshing, really. He clearly states what we know and dont know. No cover-ups, no deception.
It is a long read, but well worth it. And it is full of ideas to think about and learn about. I challenge you all to research any terms or concepts that you dont understand so that you can make a well-educated analysis of his arguments.

Interesting, especially from a former insider. Couple of things: he says, "Politicians and the public prefer simple and less-nuanced messages." I don't agree with that. I think the public understands that global warming is not a simple, less-nuanced issue, and neither are its causes. Politicians, on the other-hand, either can't or won't do their homework and speak intelligibly on the issue, and now with the ground-swell around Gore and the climate-change movement, many are simply following popular opinion instead of considering facts and truth.
He also says, "I worry that politics could seriously distort the science." This has already happened, unfortunately. Glen Beck had 2 State climatologists on his show last night, one from Oregon (I think) and the other New Jersey. Both of them have been stopped by their respective governors from offering their personal climate change views in the role of State Climatologist, because they differ from that of the Governor. They must always disassociate them from their State, and the office they hold, when expressing their opinion on climatology! "I am speaking as a citizen of New Jersey when I give my opinion on climate change; I'm not speaking for the state of New Jersey, where I am employed as the state climatologist." Unbelievable. The science has already fallen prey to the politics.
Bottom line for me is: money and power. Climate change has become big money, not from business or the market (yet), but from government. And, the advocates of human-caused global warming have won the support of some powerful people, creating a new potential "power market" for those seeking it. When I see personal behaviors of those hawking this cause align with their words, then I will begin to take note. Right now it is just the elites telling the masses that all that we have to give up and change. The liberal modus operandi consists of telling others what they have to do, but not holding yourself to the same standards.
