Hooray! A Bryson Blog! Hello, Family!
Its the end of a pleasantly interesting week here in DC. We had a miserable excuse for a snowstorm, but the Office of Personnel Management did what we all wanted them to, and shut down the Federal Government early on Wednesday, and then opened late on Thursday. And we're heading into a three day weekend. So the mood is light, much like the last week of school before school is out.
On a more serious note, I've started the process of starting to lead a men's group through a new church group I've been attending, Frontline Arlington. I have been increasingly frustrated by the lack of Christian contact I have in my life. And in this town, when often you come home at the end of the day feeling morally soiled by your surroundings, I feel that the need for a support group is even stronger. So pray that God will lead where He wills, and that I would have ears to hear...
On a political note, Giuliani has captured my attention over his past few days of running the TV shows. His view on the non-binding resolutions, his defense of anti-gun laws and abortion stance, and his charisma are winning me over right now.
Finally, random Iran video of the day. For those who think that we should negotiate with them...

Giuliani is an interesting guy, and he did incredible things in New York City. Plus he was a successful prosecutor, which means he can be aggressive. It is his post-9/11 performance, though, that makes me sit up and take notice. I've seen pictures of him covered from head to foot with the ashes of the twin towers as he is attending to injured people he has just happened upon. I heard someone recently comment on how many memorials of 9/11 victims he has attended - and it was a large number - versus Hillary, the other New Yorker in the race, who has attended 0 (that's right, zero).
Anyway, the guy is a seasoned administrator and surprisingly has a lot of diplomatic abilities - I guess you have to to be Mayor of New York City. So, I guess it's time to start looking into what he really stands for. Thanks for the links.
The Iran video is amazing. "Thanks to our dealings with Europe, even when we get a 50 day ultimatum, we managed to continue the work for two years. This way we completed in Esfahan, this way we carried out our work to complete Natanz, and on top of that, we even gained benefits. For 10 years America prevented Iran from joining the WTO. This obstacle was removed and Iran began talks to join the WTO...In these two years, and thanks to the Paris agreement, we entered the international game of the nuclear fuel cycle."
Simply amazing that there are many who continue to insist that negotiating from a position of other than power is the way to deal with these countries. Like they will simply roll over and comply 'cause we tell them to. If we can't hit 'em with a rolled up newspaper once in awhile (or turn the shock collar up to 3 just to remind them), then this is what we're going to get.

this is an interesting look at the polls for the election. I didn't realize Giuliani is pretty much the lead candidate for Repubs right now...
